JL Bryan’s website

“The Assorted Zebras are a teenage garage band in Wisconsin with no fans and no gigs, until they steal four enchanted instruments from the fairy world. The new instruments make the band a huge overnight success, but they aren’t exactly ready for fame, fortune, or the supernatural creatures sent by the fairies to track them down.”

I knew straight away that Fairy Metal Thunder would be a book I’d enjoy. Fairies, metal, the cover is purple. AND it’s written by the fabulous J.L. Bryan, author of The Paranormals series ( Jenny Pox, anyone?). I have always been a huge music junkie. Always have been. I even married a musician! My musical taste lends to the ‘heavy metal’ side of things, so I was thrilled when I read the premise for this book.
J.L. Bryan wove another awesome tale, though completely different from The Paranormals. His fluid and energetic writing kept me attentive and curious from the get go. Not to mention laughing! Bryan took quite a few ‘fey quirks’ and exploited them a little, and it was completely awesome. For example, we’ve all read fey books where the faery names are completely ridiculous, and there’s no hope in actually pronouncing it. Bryan took that and ran with it. A few other favorite moments from FAIRY METAL THUNDER include Justin Bieber references, “Don’t you know the internet is forever?”, and what I call ‘The Muffin Basket Incident” (great band name, no?). You’ll just have to read it to understand, and I promise you won’t be disappointed.
I thoroughly enjoyed this adventure, and I am always intrigued by all the different interpretations of fey realms and cultures. If you’re looking for a fun read, I highly suggest FAIRY METAL THUNDER. Rock on!

Calling all Aiden’s Angels!

It’s no secret that I have serious love for the book BETWEEN, by Cyndi Tefft, and it’s male lead, Aiden MacRae.

It is also no secret that Cyndi and I have become very good friends.  A few of us ladies on Twitter were tossing up different ideas (all were wonderful!), but we collectively decided on ‘Aiden’s Angels’. So because of those things, and because I was a little bored, I decided to use my limited skills to make her a ‘team’ graphic.

(If you’d like to use the graphic, go for it!)

Then I got to thinking about how cool it would be to have the logo on a coffee cup. One thing led to another, and without further ado, I have an announcement…

You can now purchase various Aiden’s Angels products via Cafe’ Press! I tried to make something for everyone, so have at it! The prices are those set by Cafe’ Press, so neither Cyndi or myself are making a profit on anything. I did this just to share my love for this book, and I knew that other people would be interested. In fact, while preparing to announce the store, a few girls even BOUGHT Aiden’s Angels shirts!  I can’t wait to see them =)

Go here to view all the products available. If there’s something else you’d like to see, let me know! I’ll see what I can do!

(Please note: As I mentioned above, I do not receive monetary compensation for anything sold. I also have no hand in orders, shipping or anything like that.)
