GoodReads "then.
When Sam met Grace, he was a wolf and she was a girl. Eventually he found a way to become a boy, and their love moved from a curious distance to the intense closeness of shared lives.
now.
That should have been the end of their story. But Grace was not meant to stay human. Now she is the wolf. And the wolves of Mercy Falls are about to be killed in one final, spectacular hunt.
forever.
Sam would do anything for Grace. But can one boy and one love really change a hostile, predatory world? The past, the present, and the future are about to collide in one pure moment – a moment of death or life, farewell or forever."

Maggie Steifvater is easily one of my favorite writers. Her ability to transition between character point of views is top notch. There was always a distinctness to each character that made it clear who was speaking. I only put this book down when sheer exhaustion from fatigue and trepidation overtook me.

GoodReads "Vi knows the Rule: Girls don’t walk with boys, and they never even think about kissing them. But no one makes Vi want to break the Rules more than Zenn…and since the Thinkers have chosen him as Vi’s future match, how much trouble can one kiss cause? The Thinkers may have brainwashed the rest of the population, but Vi is determined to think for herself.
But the Thinkers are unusually persuasive, and they’re set on convincing Vi to become one of them….starting by brainwashed Zenn. Vi can’t leave Zenn in the Thinkers’ hands, but she’s wary of joining the rebellion, especially since that means teaming up with Jag. Jag is egotistical, charismatic, and dangerous: everything Zenn’s not. Vi can’t quite trust Jag and can’t quite resist him, but she also can’t give up on Zenn.
This is a game of control or be controlled. And Vi has no choice but to play."

This debut from Elana Johnson offers an intense world where everything is monitored and regulated. It was crazy how much control people let The Thinkers have. Things like having to basically put headphones on every night to 'listen' to a broadcasting personalized to each persons behavior, and almost zero physical contact after eight really freaked me out. I couldn't imagine how people would think that was okay. I suppose that's the 'beauty' of brain-washing.
