Follow Friday 5/6

Follow Friday is a weekly meme hosted by Parajunkie’s View. It’s an awesome way to meet new bloggers and friends!

I will be a little slow at responding to comments and returning follows, we’re just super busy this weekend, but I promise ALL will be returned =)

Q. Circle time! Time to share. What character in a book would you most like to be, what character in a book would you most like to date?

A. I’m going to have to say (early) Anita Blake, from Laurell K. Hamilton’s Vampire Hunter series. And as far as who I’d date…either Micah or Asher, from that series, or Jace from The Mortal Instruments by Cassandra Clare. I don’t think Jace could handle Anita, though.

RAK ’em up!

Book Soulmates

My RAK Wishlist

Thanks to MY book soulmate, Ashley @ The Bookish Brunette, for reminding me… I am now participating in the Random Acts of Kindness program! I’m actually pretty stoked!!
Are you signed up?

“Random Acts of Kindness” is something I’ve been dreaming about doing since last year! Isalys and I are always finding bookish goodies to give each other ‘just because’ {I ♥ my bestie!}. We love seeing the look on the other person’s face when they light up after receiving ‘that book you’ve been dying for’. I figured why not create a way to promote goodwill amongst our fellow book soulmates? There’s nothing like the feeling you get when doing something thoughtful for another person without expecting something in return. You brighten their day and let them know ‘hey, you were thought of today’. 🙂

• Sign up each month you’d like to participate in.

• Show off your participation! Grab one of the buttons available 🙂

• Create a wishlist and post it in the Google Doc located in each R.A.K post for the month.
{Post on your blog, Amazon, where ever as long as there’s a link to it.}

• If you choose to do a R.A.K for someone, check out their wishlist and contact that blogger for their address.

• At the end of the month, SHOW US YOUR R.A.K!
{Make a post saying ‘Thank You’ to whoever granted one of your wishes 🙂

Lets’s keep our International bloggers in mind and in our hearts.
Remember, there’s always the Book Depository and they offer FREE shipping!
Thank you Uniflame for pointing that out!! 😛

FYI: One RAK will be chosen and showcased! Yayyy!

That’s it!
Easy peasy huh??

Review – Entice by Carrie Jones

Entice by Carrie Jones

Hardcover, 266 pages

Published December 14th 2010 by Bloomsbury USA Children's Books
ISBN 1599905531 (ISBN13: 9781599905532)
Primary languageEnglish
Original title Entice
Series Need #3
Purchase from Amazon

GoodReads "Zara and Nick are soul mates, meant to be together forever. But that’s not quite how things have worked out.

For starters, well, Nick is dead. Supposedly, he’s been taken to a mythic place for warriors known as Valhalla, so Zara and her friends might be able to get him back. But it’s taking time, and meanwhile a group of evil pixies is devastating Bedford, with more teens going missing every day. An all-out war seems imminent, and the good guys need all the warriors they can find. But how to get to Valhalla?

And even if Zara and her friends discover the way, there’s that other small problem: Zara’s been pixie kissed. When she finds Nick, will he even want to go with her? Especially since she hasn’t just turned… She’s Astley’s queen."

Entice picks up right where Captivate ends. Zara and crew are still searching for a way to rescue Nick from Valhalla. All seems lost. All leads turn into dead ends. This book, the third in the Need series, was a dead end for me as well. After finishing Captivate recently, I thought I would give it one last shot as sometimes there are misses in a series. My complaints with book number two have carried over into this book.

Review – City of Fallen Angels

City of Fallen Angels by Cassandra Clare
Hardcover, 424 pages
Published April 5th 2011 by Margaret K. McElderry
ISBN 1442403543 (ISBN13: 9781442403543)

Primary language English

Original title City of Fallen Angels
Series The Mortal Instruments #4

GoodReads: “City of Fallen Angels takes place two months after the events of City of Glass. In it, a mysterious someone’s killing the Shadowhunters who used to be in Valentine’s Circle and displaying their bodies around New York City in a manner designed to provoke hostility between Downworlders and Shadowhunters, leaving tensions running high in the city and disrupting Clary’s plan to lead as normal a life as she can — training to be a Shadowhunter, and pursuing her relationship with Jace. As Jace and Clary delve into the issue of the murdered Shadowhunters, they discover a mystery that has deeply personal consequences for them — consequences that may strengthen their relationship, or rip it apart forever. Meanwhile, internecine warfare among vampires is tearing the Downworld community apart, and only Simon — the Daylighter who everyone wants on their side — can decide the outcome; too bad he wants nothing to do with Downworld politics. Love, blood, betrayal and revenge: the stakes are higher than ever in City of Fallen Angels.”
I was pretty nervous about reading this book. It is so easy to become attached to some of the characters, I was afraid of what might happen. Clare's writing is so smooth and fluid, it's absolutely addictive. The way her characters come to life in the Shadowhunter world completely captivated me, and I could not put City of Fallen Angels down.
